What is Zephyr?

Zephyr is a utility which brings Android notifications to SteamVR. After linking the Android and desktop clients, notifications will be sent over your local network and displayed in SteamVR's interface.

How does Zephyr work?

Zephyr is comprised of two pieces of software -- the desktop client and Android app.

The desktop client provides the desktop interface, SteamVR dashboard, and a server to manage notifications. This server is utilized by the Android app to post notifications which will then be picked up and shown by the desktop interface and SteamVR dashboard.

Is iOS supported?

Sorry, Zephyr is currently only available for Android.

Can I download Zephyr without Steam and/or the Play Store?

Steam and the Play Store are the recommended methods to download the Zephyr desktop client and Android app.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can check out Zephyr on GitHub to build the project from scratch or to use published artifacts from the CI pipelines. Note that automatic updates won't be available for these builds.

Are my notifications private?

Yep! Privacy is a key feature of Zephyr. Notifications never leave your local network.
