Connection issues

Having connection issues? Here's some troubleshooting steps which may help.

Check clients

Install and run

Zephyr requires both an Android app and desktop client to operate. See the Quick start guide to learn how to install each.

Update

Ensure Zephyr is updated by checking for updates via the Play Store and Steam.

Verify join code

Make sure the join code displayed on the desktop client matches what's set on the Android app.

You can edit the join code within the app by tapping the join code or long pressing the connect button.

Still not working? Try using your computer's full IP address instead of the shorter join code. Your computer's IP address can be found within the desktop client by displaying the QR code or by clicking on the join code.

Check network setup

There's a few things Zephyr requires of your network to operate properly.

Same network

The Zephyr Android app and desktop client must be connected on the same network.

Pro-tip: Some computers may have more than one network interface. You can view all of your computer's IP addresses by clicking on the join code within the desktop client.

Ports

Zephyr utilizes the following ports to communicate:

  • 3752 - client discovery (optional)

  • 3753 - WebSocket and HTTP APIs (required)

Make sure these ports aren't in use by any other software or blocked by your firewall.
